Does it only charge in direct sunlight? What about cloudy days?

The light works best through charging up by receiving direct sunlight.

It can still charge up in cloudy weather, but it could affect how much the light will charge as the cloud will not permit as much light through.

When the light receives less energy, the brightness level could go down in order to support the lighting for a longer period of time.

Can l install the light at where there is a shade covers up?

With a shade covering up the solar panel, the light will not receive as much sunlight.

For best performance, we recommend you to install the light at a place with no shades or cover in order to get the most out of the sunlight.
